Aalto University School of Chemical Engineering invites applications for
DOCTORAL CANDIDATE POSITION IN WOOD SCIENCE
The researcher will be working on water interactions and advanced applications of Raman / IR spectroscopy on modified wood. The researcher is expected to work independently, and develops his/her own ideas how to tackle our ambitious goals. The position is available from 01.09.2017 onwards. The position is situated on the main campus of Aalto University in Otaniemi within the Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems (http://bio2.aalto.fi/en/).
The call is open for candidates with a Master's degree in wood science/chemistry or a any other relevant discipline associated with thesis topics. The candidates are expected to be proactive, capable to work in teams, goal-oriented and to possess a good potential in knowledge, skills and attitude towards post-graduate studies in multidisciplinary field of science.

The expected duration of doctoral studies is four years, but a contract is at first made for one year, and the extension is subject to advance of studies and research. The salary is according to the salary system of Aalto University.
