We are Sweden’s largest technical research and learning institution and home to students, researchers and faculty from around the world. Our research and education covers a wide area including natural sciences and all branches of engineering, as well as architecture, industrial management, urban planning, history and philosophy.
The new high performance computing (HPC) system manager will work at the PDC Center for High Performance Computing. PDC is the leading Swedish supercomputing center and is hosted by KTH. It operates state-of-the-art computational and storage resources for a variety of scientific application domains, including mechanics, computational chemistry, life sciences, climatology, and physics. PDC’s current flagship system is a 2.5 PF Cray XC-40 system, Beskow, with over 67,000 cores. This computer will be replaced early in 2021 by a system with a maximum capacity of about 10 PF that will be equipped with a substantial GPU partition.

The work includes administration of the HPC and storage infrastructures and services, development of these services based on user needs and technological advances, and close interactions with the PDC application experts, users and suppliers of computing systems and software.
