The Donders Centre for Cognition (DCC), embedded in the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour, and the School of Psychology at Radboud University (Nijmegen, Netherlands) are seeking an Assistant Professor for the Department of Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology. The goal of this position is to further strengthen the educational programme and advance fundamental research in neuropsychology. The position involves teaching on a 50-50 basis, developing and coordinating courses in the field of neuropsychology. Your teaching activities will be embedded in the Psychology Bachelor's (domain: Brain & Cognition) and Master's programmes (notably the Neuropsychology track of the Master's specialisation on Healthcare Psychology). You will also be supervising students working on their Bachelor's and Master's theses.
You should have a research agenda in the domain of Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology, which includes research on learning and memory, executive functions and adaptive behaviour, and/or the translation of cognitive research into applications for clinical practice and society (e.g. neuropsychological assessment, cognitive rehabilitation, ageing). Current research focuses on clinical neuropsychology and neuropsychiatry, with formal links to institutes such as the Radboud university medical center, Vincent van Gogh Institute for Psychiatry, and Klimmendaal Rehabilitation Centre.
The position will be embedded in the Department of Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology of the Faculty of Social Sciences. The faculty's ambition is to become one of the top social science institutes in Europe, providing high-quality research and study programmes that rank among the best in the Netherlands. The Faculty of Social Sciences is the largest faculty at Radboud University, with a total of around 4,500 students spread over three educational institutions.
The School of Psychology offers excellent degree programmes for approximately 1,800 students: the Bachelor's programme has an annual inflow of approximately 450 new students. The Master's degree in Psychology consists of three tracks to prepare students for their academic and professional career: Healthcare Psychology; Work, Organisation and Health; and Behaviour Change. The Research Master's programmes in Behavioural Science and Cognitive Neuroscience are offered in collaboration with two renowned research institutes: the Donders Institute for Cognition, Brain and Behaviour and the Behavioural Science Institute.
The Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour is a world-class interfaculty research institute that houses more than 700 researchers devoted to understanding the mechanistic underpinnings of the human mind.
